Say hello to the TAMMI program.

Transplant Advocacy and Meaningful Multidisciplinary Integration Program

When I launched The Transplant Doula Training & Network at the end of last year, I had no idea what would come of it; all I knew was that this was a version of the dream Tammi and I schemed when she was navigating her transplant journey, and it felt right.

As it would turn out, the response has been incredible from transplant recipients, patients, and medical professionals alike.

Today, we have a small handful of members who are actively supporting patients and living donors with this new model of doula care, and transplant teams have been expressing interest in doula support for their centers. So, as part of my lofty goals for this year, I’m excited to announce the launch of the training & network’s very first initiative:

The Tammi Program

TAMMI stands for Transplant Advocacy and Meaningful Multidisciplinary Integration. This groundbreaking program will achieve two main goals:

Provide Sponsored Transplant Doula Support to Underserved Communities

The TAMMI Program will enable The Transplant Doula Training & Network to partner with existing programs that serve underserved communities and with transplant centers. Through these partnerships, we will provide sponsored transplant doula support to those who might not otherwise have the means to privately hire one. This initiative ensures that everyone, regardless of financial capability, can benefit from the compassionate and essential support that transplant doulas offer.

Offer Sponsored Access to Our Training & Network

We recognize that there are many passionate individuals who would like to become transplant doulas but are facing financial hardships. The TAMMI Program will offer sponsored access to our comprehensive training and network, allowing these individuals to pursue their calling without financial barriers. This initiative not only empowers new doulas but also strengthens our community and extends our reach.
